The Covenant HealthCare Foundation participated in a fundraising book fair this past December at the Barnes & Noble Saginaw Township location. The purpose for the proceeds from this event will be used to fund Camp Midicha scholarships during the summer of 2010. Camp Midicha, located in Fenton, Michigan, is dedicated to serving children with Diabetes. During the evening hours of the book fair, student athletes from Saginaw Valley State University volunteered to read to children while their parents shopped.
Total sales during this first time event generated net proceeds of $308 for camp scholarships. The Covenant HealthCare Foundation would like to thank everyone who volunteered and made purchases durings during this event.

Grant Information from the Foundation
Pollution Prevention Corner
Covenant HealthCare has received a grant from Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to reduce water usage and chemical pollutants used at Covenant. Our plans are to re-surface high traffic areas of the emergency care center and monitor the reductions in water and cleaner needed.
High Emergency room visits put grant funded floor replacement on hold. However, in December, Covenant lifted the visitor restricitons that were inplace to control the spread for influenza. With cases of severe flu stabilizing, Facilities Services is preparing to move forward with out pollution prevention program in January 2010
Check regularly for updates on our progress and feel free to contact Felicia Seals-Buchanan at fseals-buchanan@chs-mi.com concerning pollution ideas that you may have for Covenant HealthCare.
